Fast-rising pizza firm Big Manny’s has been given the go-ahead to transform Peterhead’s former Brewdog bar into a new restaurant.
The Aberdeen-based outfit began by selling its famously giant slices in city pubs, before opening up its own premises on Pittodrie Street and at Codona’s.
Recently, the firm announced plans to operate from Inverurie’s Garioch Fish Bar.
The march across the north-east looks set to continue…
Now, bosses are preparing to open their first dedicated diner in Aberdeenshire, in Peterhead.
The site, next to the Arc Cinema, has been empty since Brewdog’s sudden closure last August.
Who are Big Manny’s Pizza?
The independent firm only started in October 2020.
Within months, their American-style monster pizzas had proven so popular with customers at The Adam’s Lounge they were looking for their own space.
It’s run by brothers Phillip and Ashley Adams who own the pub, and chef Calum Wright.
At the start of last year, the Pittodrie Street branch opened and that was followed by the Codona’s deal in the summer.
How would the former Peterhead Brewdog become a new Big Manny’s Pizza?
Blueprints submitted to Aberdeenshire Council show how the space could be refitted, with room for dozens of customers to dine inside.
It would also operate as a takeaway.
The bar area would be extended, with space for a “dough stretch table” and pizza oven behind the counter.

Brewdog blamed soaring energy bills when it closed the Broad Street bar last August.
It comes amid ongoing efforts to regenerate that part of Peterhead town centre, with major works taking place on a performance space at Drummer’s Corner.
