Ever fancied seeing William Wallace in a high-vis kilt? Or Robert Burns in headphones?
Well now is your chance as some of Aberdeen’s most famous landmarks undergo a makeover to mark the start of a new city arts festival.
The Look Again festival is underway in the city and ecourages Aberdonians to “become tourists in their own city” and take in some of the sights they may usually pass by.
Alongside Wallace on Rosemount Viaduct and the Bard on Union Terrace other statues to undergo changes were Robert the Bruce outside Marischal College appears to have made friends with a number of ceramic birds while General Charles Gordon, in Schoolhill, has been “knitting bombed” and Albert the Prince Consort, in Union Terrace, transform into a blue-sky thinker.
This year’s festival has been launched today, and it will feature a packed programme of exhibitions, workshops and events around the city until April 12.
Wondering why Aberdeen’s statues are all dressed up today?
