Police have confirmed the identity of the man killed in a north east crash this afternoon as 54-year-old John Ogston.
Mr Ogston, from the Banff area, died following a collision with a grey Audi A8 on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road at around 7.40am this morning.
Road Policing Inspector Ewan Innes said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died and a full collision investigation will be carried out to establish the circumstances.”
The road re-opened at 2.15pm this afternoon.
A police spokesman said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact officers on 101.”
