Police have launched an investigation after a man found was dead in his home in Portsoy.
Emergency services were last night called to the house at 11pm yesterday where the body of the 36-year -old was discovered.
Chemicals were also found at the scene, however, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the force said: “I can confirm at 11pm on Sunday officers were called to a residential property in Portsoy where a body of a 36-year-old male was found.
“Due to unknown substances found in the property, specialist teams across all three emergency services have been deployed in relation to the death.
“As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
“There has been no danger caused to the public.”
