A photography competition has been launched in Aberdeenshire to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show.
Drum Castle is the first Scottish venue to be included in the Chelsea Fringe programme, which includes a variety of activities across the country for gardening fans to take part in.
The fringe was launched in 2012 and runs from May 16 to June 7 while the flower show is underway in London.
The Drum events will be held on May 30 and 31, and to mark the occasion, a gardening photography competition has been launched.
The National Trust for Scotland team is looking for shots in three categories: favourite gardener, which could be animal or human “helpers”; a view of Drum garden; and all that grows, which could be a close-up
Entries are welcome in three age groups – adults, senior pupils and primary pupils.
The deadline for entries is May 18, and winners will be announced at the fringe weekend. Their photographs will also be displayed in the castle.
Other activities lined up for the weekend include creating a doorstep herb garden, a special tree walk, poetry, willow weaving workshops, a session with Aberdeenshire Moth Group and a wishing tree.
Diana Robertson, the castle’s head gardener, said: “The Chelsea Finge is a way in which communities can celebrate the beauty and art of gardening locally, whilst still being part of the amazing energy of the main festival.
“We might not be able to travel the 544 miles to Chelsea, but we can still take part and be proud that we are the most northern and first Scottish venue.”
