A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of two Aberdeen men.
The teenager has been detained in connection with the alleged incident, which happened in the Wardiesburn area of Edinburgh on April 8.
Peter Stewart and his brother James travelled to the capital from Aberdeen to buy a car.
But police launched a major investigation after the pair were allegedly stabbed in the stairwell of a block of flats.
James Stewart, 45, was discharged from hospital a couple of days later while his brother was transferred from Edinburgh to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary earlier this week.
James, of Northfield, said he feared the worst during the incident, but did what he could to protect his brother – and managed to pull him into his car to get help.
The two went to Edinburgh to buy a car – understood to be a Volkswagen – after Peter responded to an ad on the Gumtree website with the brothers heading to the capital with £6,000 in cash.
Police said a report in connection with the 16-year-old will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A spokesman added inquiries into the incident were continuing.
