A fire has broken out at a Peterhead property, with reports of a “possible explosion”.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are at the scene in Ravenscraig Road.
The alarm was raised at about 3pm, and when the first fire crew arrived at the scene they called for back-up, with another two now also tackling the flames.
It is not yet clear if anyone was in the semi-detached property when the fire broke out, but the neighbouring house has been evacuated and the elderly resident is safe.
A police spokesman said: “At 3pm we were advised by the fire and rescue service that there was a possible explosion and fire within a property at Ravenscraig Road.
“Police units are in attendance with the fire service.
“The neighbouring property has been evacuated and the elderly resident is safe.
“The fire service is investigating if there was anyone in the house.”
A fire spokeswoman said she could not confirm the reports of an explosion, but confirmed the incident was still ongoing.
A fire service spokewoman later said: “We’ve got three crews at the scene.
“We’ve had a jet, two hose reel jets and six breathing apparatus in use.”
An ambulance service spokeswoman said they had not been required to take anyone to hospital.
