A man has been fined for attacking his partner with his crutches during a drunken row.
D’Arcy Parslow appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where admitted assaulting Helen Parslow on the city’s Market Street on Sunday.
The court heard Parslow had injured his ankle and was walking with the aid of crutches following an operation.
Fiscal depute Stephanie Ross said the pair had agreed to go out in town, however, they argued and left he bar they were drinking in. Once outside Parslow lost his temper and hit Ms Parslow repeatedly on the head and body with the crutch.
The incident was captured on CCTV.
Representing the 63-year-old, solicitor Mike Allan said his client had agreed to go out with his partner that evening but was finding it difficult to do anything as he was relying on crutches.
He said that when they arrived at the bar his partner started to speak to other people and he felt ignored and this was the catalyst for the argument.
Sheriff Edward Savage said he took into account that Parslow, of 119 Bonnyview Drive, Aberdeen, had no previous convictions.
He fined him £200, saying it had been reduced from £300 to reflect his early plea.
