Aberdeenshire councillors yesterday agreed a maintenance programme for local pools, schools and community facilities for the next financial year.
The £2.5million spending plan for 2015-16 was approved by the policy and resources committee.
Upgrades will take place at Tarlair outdoor swimming pool, Catto Park’s all weather pitch and Balmedie primary school’s playground and a new filtration plant will be installed at Huntly swimming pool.
The council’s strategy also aims to replace all single-glazed school windows with double-glazing, and to upgrade electrical services and make improvements to toilets.
