Aberdeenshire road to be hit by tree felling operations

Tree felling operations are due to begin at a popular Aberdeenshire 4woodlands today.
The work is being carried out by Forestry Commission Scotland along the popular hiking route, the Gordon Way, in the woods around Bennachie.
The work is expected to take about three month starting from today and will requite the closure of the Suie car park.
Forestry Commission spokeswoman, Emily Holmes, said: “The felling will affect the Gordon Way for about three to four weeks from May 18 and diversions will be in place.
“These will only be in place through the week because, in an attempt to limit disruption as much as possible, we will open all routes for weekends.
“We understand that this will result in some inconvenience and we apologise for that in advance.
“However, we would urge all visitors to observe all onsite safety signage, both for their own safety and for the peace of mind of the felling teams working in the forest.”
Alternative parking will be available on the opposite side of the Suie road.
