Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a golf club in Aberdeenshire early this morning.
Kenmay Golf Club on the town’s Monymusk Road was raided shortly after 4am.
The thieves made off with £500, along with a quantity of alcohol.
They also caused “significant damage” to the bar area of the club, meaning it and the administration office will have to remain closed until repairs are made.
Last night a club spokesman said no one wanted to comment on the break-in.
However, councillor Patricia Oddie said it was “really sad” to hear the venue had been targeted.
“There is a lovely community in Kemnay around the golf club,” she said.
“This will impact on the wider community, as well as members of the club itself, so it is disappointing.
“You feel is anger at what is an invasion of their privacy.”
Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
