Aberdeenshire councillors have backed plans for £94,000 of harbour works in the Mearns.
The Kincardine and Mearns area committee approved the annual works programme for maintenance at Stonehaven, Gourdon and Johnshaven harbours.
A total of £246,000 has been set aside for seven harbours from the council revenue budget for 2015-16.
Of this, £72,750 has been allocated to Stonehaven – including £30,000 for dredging.
£13,500 will be spent on Gourdon harbour and £7,750 on Johnshaven.
Stephen Archer, the council’s director of infrastructure services, said: “This will permit re-assessment of priorities for emergency works such as storm damage, which may require immediate action to maintain the structural integrity of the harbour.”
