The current headquarters could be replaced by housing
Aberdeen’s current fire headquarters could become the site of 100 new homes when the service moves its operations to the north of the city.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) revealed earlier this month that its new HQ for the north of Scotland would be established at the retained station in Dyce.
The shift is being planned in readiness for the arrival of the Western Peripheral Route.
Now a proposal of application notice has been submitted for the site of the current HQ on North Anderson Drive.
Russell Munn, an estates and valuation surveyor with SFRS, said: “We’re using the office section and the part to the south.
“It will probably be a mixture, more likely to be flats fronting on Anderson Drive and housing to the rear.
“There will be a public consultation. At this stage it’s just really a notice of intent.”
An exhibition is planned for late May or early June at the Mastrick Community Centre.
