A group of men ambushed a man at a property in Aberdeen and scarred him for life in a row over £50, a court has heard.
Mohammed Abdirahman, 25, and others pounced on David Adams on January 6 2022.
The group stormed the premises while hunting for Mr Adams, who was branded a “robbing scumbag”.
The men punched and kicked Mr Adams, struck him on the knees with a beer bottle, and left him with multiple stab wounds that will permanently scar him.
Mr Adam’s friend Alec Lee Allan was also assaulted but he fortunately escaped with minor injuries.
Abdirahman pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to assaulting Mr Adams to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
‘Struck over the head with an unknown implement’
The court heard that Amanda Ingham and Robert Reid were in their home when a group of men arrived.
This included Abdirahman who was looking for David Adams.
Prosecutor Kath Harper said: “He remarked that he had ripped someone off in the sum of £50”.
Miss Ingham called Mr Adams who later attended the property with his friend Alec Lee Allan.
Miss Harper told the court: “On entering the living room, the group assaulted Mr Adams and Mr Allan.
“Mr Allan was struck over the head with an unknown implement.”
The two men struggled with the group, who were carrying knives, and attempted to fight back.
The group repeatedly jumped and stamped on Mr Adam’s head and back as he lay on the ground.
They went on to punch and kick his head and body while shouting that he was a “robbing scumbag”.
Abdirahman repeatedly struck Mr Adams on the knees with a bottle and poured beer over his head.
He was then struck on the face with a mug by another member of the group.
A knife that was also being swung broke during the assault.
‘Large slash wound’
Mr Allan in the meantime was threatened, punched and struck with bottles and mugs before a knife was held to his face.
A 999 call was made and police attended but officers were told that it was a minor argument before they left.
Mr Adams was noted to be in “severe pain” and unable to breath properly before he was taken to hospital.
He suffered wounds to his face and head as well as punctures to his back, broken ribs and swelling to his head and body.
Miss Harper stated that Mr Adams will be permanently scarred, despite the injuries not being life-threatening.
Mr Allan was found to have a bump or cut to the back of his head that did not require medical treatment.
The court heard that four days later, a group dressed in dark clothing with weapons – including 34-year-old Andrius Lukosevicius – was dropped off by a taxi on Balnagask Road, Aberdeen.
Miss Harper said: “A witness saw victim Sam Bombe, aged 22, running towards Balnagask Road, followed by three men, two of whom had weapons.
“He was seen to be injured with a large slash wound to his left forearm which was bleeding heavily.”
‘Full-thickness stab wound down to the bone’
A bystander treated Mr Bombe with a T-shirt around his arm, while a back wound was also noted.
He was taken to hospital where he was found to have suffered a stab wound to his back and lower abdomen.
Miss Harper added: “There was a full-thickness stab wound down to the bone and ulnar nerve to his lower left arm”.
Mr Bombe was also stabbed to the buttock as well as his chest, which caused a partial collapse of his left lung.
The wound to his lung will cause him permanent impairment and scarring due to the nerve damage.
Lukosevicius’ home was searched and contained weapons which included his DNA.
He was later arrested.
Lukosevicius pled guilty to assaulting Mr Bombe to his severe injury, permanent impairment, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
Sentence was deferred to the High Court in Edinburgh, pending background reports, before Judge Lord Scott, who remanded Lukosevicius and Abdirahman in custody.
