Staff at ThinkPR in Aberdeen have raised £10,000 for a local charity to mark the communications firm’s 10th year in business.
The 17-strong team took part in quiz nights, mud runs, man auctions and food sales to reach the target.
Their efforts were in aid of local boy Alfie Milne, who was born in 2007 with the rare disease Lymphangiomatosis, which causes benign tumours to grow and spread throughout his body.
The Aberdeen youngster’s parents set up the Alfie Milne Trust in 2011 to raise awareness of the disease and fund research.
Tracy Milne, Alfie’s mother, said the family were hugely appreciative of the effort the staff had put in.
She said: “ThinkPR has done a brilliant job of raising a fantastic sum of money for the trust.
“We’re so grateful, not just for the financial support that means so much, but also for the awareness-raising.”
Annabel Sall, chief executive of ThinkPR, thanked everyone who helped to raise the funds.
“The response to our fundraising has been fantastic and we truly appreciate every donation that has been made,” she said.
“Reaching our target would not have been possible without the immense generosity of our friends, family and clients who have supported us throughout the year with their time, donations, and purchasing of pancakes, strawberries, men and butteries – not your standard shopping list.”
