Trading Standards officers have ruled out foul play after two cow heads were found near a busy Inverurie road.
The heads were discovered on Burghmuir Drive and near the Morrisons roundabout on Monday at about 4.15pm.
Aberdeenshire Trading Standards said an inspector from the animal and welfare team were called out, but the heads had been collected.
They carried out inquiries and have determined the heads had fallen from a lorry.
The company responsible said they been safely disposed of.
