Seventeen people have appeared in court in connection with clashes that took place following the Dons’ victory over Rangers last month.

The 14 men and two teenagers, all Aberdeen fans and from the north-east, have been charged with breach of the peace, while one Rangers fan also faces an additional charge of assault.

A series of fights and skirmishes broke out in the city after Rangers lost by two goals at Pittodrie Stadium on April 23 this year.

Police also attended a disturbance on the city’s Hutcheon Street where the window of a Rangers supporter’s bus was smashed.

Police vehicles raced to the scene with blue lights flashing as Rangers fans were then spotted jumping off their buses and engaging Dons fans.

A number of arrests were made and the Rangers supporters buses were allowed to continue on their journey.

Dons fans appear at court

Ethan Cadger, 23, Ryan Combe, 19, Ben Cumming, 18, Brandon Emslie, 21, Ross Falconer, 21, Dylan Duncan, 21, Kyle Hay, 24, Finlay Munro, 24, Brad Rogers, 20, Neale Ross, 34, Michael Sangster, 21, and Scott Steppie, 21, are all from Aberdeen and charged with a breach of the peace.

Callum Seymour, 22, of Inverurie, is charged with breach of the peace, while two 17-year-olds, from Fraserburgh and Aberdeen, also face the same charge.

Cameron Craig, 18, of Aberdeenshire, is charged with breach of the peace and assault.

All the group appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where they made no plea and were released on bail to appear again later in the year.

A Rangers fan, Blain Lang, 24, from Glasgow, appeared in a separate court and pleaded not guilty to one charge of assault.

However, as a result of his bail conditions, Lang is banned from attending any football match in Scotland other than those held at Ibrox Stadium.

Lang will appear again at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in September.
