A north-east boarding school has been given a glowing report by inspectors.
Aberdeen City Music School, based at Dyce Academy and run by the city council, was rated by Education Scotland after a visit to the halls of residence by inspectors in February.
The report notes that the boarding accommodation is well maintained and has a “warm, cheerful atmosphere”.
It also highlights the role of the cleaner, who has introduced “young person friendly” cards, which encourage pupils to keep their rooms tidy.
The service provides young people with the opportunity to live close to the school while they receive specialist music tuition alongside their regular education.
Aberdeen City Council’s convener of education and children’s services, councillor Angela Taylor, said: “This is a great report for a very important service provided for the residential pupils of Aberdeen City Music School.
“Staff are clearly committed to providing a high level of support to the young people who live there and it is clear that their enthusiasm and dedication is helping young people to meet their full potential.”
