The scene of the crash between Longhaven and Hatton
Pictures have emerged of a horrific crash between a lorry and a 4×4 on a busy north-east road, earlier today.
Police received reports of the accident – involving an articulated lorry and a Land Rover Discovery – on the A90 Aberdeen to Peterhead road, at around 4.10pm.
Ambulance and fire services, from Ellon and Peterhead, were also called to the scene, near Cruden Bay turn-off.
A man had to be cut from the Land Rover and was subsequently airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but he is not believed to be seriously injured.
The road remains closed while the vehicles are removed, traffic is being diverted.
