Two appliances, from Central, and 12 firefighters were called to the disused factory at around 7.35pm. The crews used a hosereel jet and breathing apparatus to put out the fire. No one was injured as a result of the incident and the fire was extinguished at around 8.10pm. In recent years there have been numerous fires at the premises, which is the largest collection of at-risk A-listed buildings in Scotland. In November, four teenagers were charged after video footage emerged online of them appearing to enter the site to start a fire inside. Permission was granted earlier this year for the site to be converted into more than 500 homes.
