An Aberdeen motorist assaulted another driver in a road rage incident.
Barry Laing admitted attacking David Robertson by slamming a car door on him on North Donside Road in Bridge of Don last year.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard yesterday that the incident happened around 9.40pm on November, 8 2013, after the pair had been driving along the city’s King Street near the BP petrol station.
Fiscal depute Sally McAuley said Mr Robertson pulled over on North Donside Street and when Mr Laing stopped his vehicle behind him, an argument broke out.
“There seems to have been some allegation about the quality of the driving that had occurred,” she said.
“Various witnesses saw the accused get out of his car, push the complainer and manhandle him towards the complainer’s own vehicle.
“The accused then slammed the car door of the complainer’s vehicle against the leg of the complainer.
“The accused then got back in his vehicle and drive off.”
Sheriff Kenneth Stewart ordered Laing, of Flat C, 72 John Street, Aberdeen, to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work he and received six penalty points on his driving licence.
