Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was attacked by two men in Aberdeen.
The 65-year-old had to be taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – where he was treated for facial injuries.
The assault took place on Great Northern Road, last Tuesday, at around 10pm.
The two culprits are described as being aged between 18 and 35 and both were around 5ft 10ins tall.
The first man was described as average build, with short blonde hair with a white or light grey hooded top, light denim jeans and light coloured trainers.
The second suspect has been described as being of slim build.
Constable Lorcan Thame of Aberdeen Division’s Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly assault on a man who was cycling on Great Northern Road close to its junction with Barron Street, Aberdeen.
“He was approached by two men and struck on the head which caused him to fall off his bike. It was an upsetting incident for the man and I would appeal for anyone with information or who saw anything to contact us.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information which could help police, should contact 101 or Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
