Businesses across the north-east are being invited to help make a new food and drink festival a success.
Feast North East, a three-month food and drink festival for Inverurie and the surrounding area, will showcase the best food and drink producers, farmers, independent retailers and eating establishments in the region.
Now organisers are encouraging local businesses to show their support by hosting an event that will highlight the range of local produce available.
Activities lined up already include foraging tours, tasting events, cooking demonstrations and fun days.
Taste of Grampian, which will be held at the Thainstone Centre next Saturdayjune6 has also been included the programme, and will kick-off the festival.
JG Ross (Bakers) is just one of the businesses that has already signed up, and director Graeme Ross said they were “delighted” to be involved.
He added: “We are in the process of organising a large event at the end of August to showcase some of the area’s finest producers and want to try and encourage as many of the local businesses as we can to get involved so we can end the Feast North East festival with a bang.”
Douglas Milne, Aberdeenshire Council’s Garioch area manager and spokesman for Feast North East, said: “The event is proving to be extremely popular with people in the area, and we have had a number of businesses register their festival events over the past week, and we’re looking to get the backing of even more companies before its official launch in June.
“There is an abundance of local businesses with fantastic food and drink produce on offer, and the festival offers them the perfect platform to showcase them, which will help reach the festival’s aim of increasing footfall in the area.”
