Fire crews were called into action earlier today for a rescue mission of the feathered variety.
Charlie, an African grey parrot, had managed to escape his Stonehaven home on Friday and had taken sanctuary in the nearby Dunnottar Woods.
The SSPCA were alerted to the parrot’s whereabouts but could not reach Charlie, who was perched a-top a tall tree.
The fire and rescue service were asked to provide assistance and, at about 3.20pm this afternoon, managed to rescue the bird from the tree and return him to his owners.
