A man has denied driving dangerously on north-east roads on three separate occasions.
Colin Stewart’s case called at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where he faced a total of four charges which were alleged to have been committed over four months last year.
It is alleged Stewart got behind the wheel of a Saab 9-5 on April 3 before driving it dangerously on the A90 Aberdeen to Fraserburgh road, near the Toll of Birness. He is accused of driving at excessive speeds and driving on the wrong side of the road, causing other vehicles to swerve out of his way.
On May 27, he is alleged to have driven a Ford Fiesta dangerously on Provost Rust Drive, Aberdeen, by taking the car off the road and onto a grass verge to the danger of the public nearby.
A final dangerous driving charge alleges that on July 1, Stewart drove a Ford Focus at excessive speeds on Cairncry Road in the city.
He is then said to have slammed on his breaks causing traffic behind him to take evasive action to avoid crashing into him.
Stewart, of 46 St Machar Court, Aberdeen, is also alleged to have revved his engine excessively before driving off at speed.
The last charge against the 30-year-old claims he acted in a threatening and abusive manner on July 1 by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively before driving his car at police witnesses.
He will return to court later this year for trial.
