Four youths have been charged in connection with a fire outside a Torry supermarket with police working to catch those behind a number of blazes started on the same night.
Trolleys and cardboard were set ablaze near the Tesco store on Wellington Road just after 10pm on Monday.
Police worked to trace a group of six people who were seen in the nearby area before the fire emerged.
Those now charged following the fire are aged 14 and 13, with two twelve-year-old boys also to be reported to the youth justice management unit.
There were numerous fires on Monday night but it is unclear at this stage whether there is a connection between them.
Earlier in the evening, a fire broke out in a derelict building of the Royal Cornhill Hospital, with a 13-year-old subsequently charged.
A fire then broke out in the bin room of Grampian Court in Balnagask Circle which led to residents being evacuated and four people being taken to hospital.
No charges have been brought as yet.
Later, a fire in the derelict Torryburn Hotel in Kintore broke out around 11.30pm with firefighters battling for five hours to bring it under control.
A 13-year-old was charged in connection with this on Tuesday.
Inspector David Paterson, of the Torry Community Policing Team, said: “Fire creates a significant danger to both the emergency services and the people in the area.
“With the latter of these two incidents, we’ve seen four people taken to hospital and we can be thankful that things did not take a turn for the worse.
“We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and can reassure the local people we will carry out a robust investigation.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue service echoed their warning.
Group manager Fraser Burr said: “The service would like to remind people that those responsible for setting deliberate fires not only place our attending fire crews at risk but also potentially
impact on our ability to respond to more important emergencies elsewhere in the city.
“Deliberate fire setting is a crime and we encourage anyone who has any information to contact Police Scotland.”
Meanwhile, two boys aged 12 and 16 have been reported in relation to a fire at the semi-derelict Broadford Works on Monday, May 18. Two other fires at the site are still under investigation.
