A group of singers from an Aberdeenshire school who secured £3,000 for good causes have performed to a crowd of 1,000 people. The four S3 pupils from Lathallan School attended the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative Scotland (YPIS) event at Perth Concert Hall. Pupils Darlene Ugbe, Joanna Hall, Cattie Rennie and Sam Vasquez Dalgity performed original song Against the Current to the packed audience. Last year the group secured £3,000 for sexual abuse counselling service Hear Me for a performance and a presentation to YPIS. Sir Ian Wood and Social Bite founder Josh Littlejohn were both keynote speakers at the event, which was also attended by X Factor winner Matt Cardle. Lathallan school headmaster, Richard Toley, said: “The girls practiced extremely hard for the event in Perth and we are very proud of them. “We are delighted with their involvement and support of the Hear Me counselling service.”
