The fire and rescue service received reports of a roof fire at the Potarch Hotel, just outside Banchory, at around 3.50pm. Thirteen firefighters, plus two appliances and a height vehicle, were needed. Crews are still at the scene to check the fire has not spread elsewhere in the building. A fire and rescue service spokeswoman confirmed there were no injuries as the hotel is currently closed for refurbishment.
