Emergency services were called to an Aberdeen street this afternoon following reports of a sudden death.
Three fire crews, two ambulances and numerous police officers attended a block of flats at Urquhart Road, near King Street, around 3.30pm.
A large stretch of the road was closed off amid fears dangerous gases had been used at the property where the body of the man was found.
He was named locally as offshore worker, Jamie Gallacher, who had lived in the area for several years.
It is understood fire fighters attended the scene to test carbon monoxide levels at the property.
However, police have said they could not confirm any further about the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended an address in the Urquhart Road area of Aberdeen during the afternoon of Wednesday, 17 June, 2015, where the body of a man was found.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
