Armed Forces Day will be marked in Aberdeen with a “fantastic spectacle” on Union Street next Saturday.
Serving military personnel will be joined by veteran associations and cadets who will be led through the heart of the city by several pipe bands.
As the parade passes the Town House, Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeen George Adam will take the salute along with representatives from the Armed Forces.
The procession will finish at the Castlegate.
Lord Provost George Adam said: “This is a day to honour the men and women of our armed forces past and present and to thank them for their service to the country.
“It’s also a fantastic spectacle and a great day out for the family. I’m looking forward to huge crowds of folk turning out to cheer on the parade and join in the fun down at the Queen’s Links.”
On Sunday, the city will honour airborne forces with a second parade down Union Street.
The Parachute Regimental Association will join the 4th battalion, the Parachute Regiment, from the Kirk of St Nicholas Uniting graveyard to King Street.
The airmen will be led by The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Scotland.
