Police have named the woman who died in a tragic five-car crash on the A9 this weekend.
Thurso woman Elizabeth Williams, 72, was a passenger in a Jaguar S type car that was involved in the collision occurred north of Berriedale, at around 2pm on Saturday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and closed off the road but were unable to save the woman.
The A9 was closed in both directions and diversions were in place via the A897 Helmsdale to Melvich road.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the woman who died in a five vehicle collision on the A9 south of Dunbeath on Saturday, June 20, at around 2pm has been named as Elizabeth Williams, 72, from Thurso.
“Police would ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.”
