Police investigating a serious two-car collision in the north-east’s largest town have appealed for witnesses.
The crash on Peterhead’s South Road forced one vehicle down an embankment and towards the harbour. The car was left precariously close to the water and left with “significant damage”.
It is understood no one was seriously injured in the collision, which happened at around 8.35pm on Thursday evening.
Last night a police spokesman said: “The collision happened on South Road, Peterhead, and involved a silver Ford Galaxy and a grey Volkswagen Golf.
“As a result of the incident, the Golf left the carriageway with significant damage and had to be retrieved using heavy lifting machinery. There were minor injuries to three people.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
