A man has been seriously assaulted in broad daylight in the middle of an Aberdeen park.
Police are currently appealing for witnesses following the Union Terrace Gardens assault on Monday, which left a 26-year-old man with a serious facial injury.
The incident is understood to have taken place at 2.30pm close to the archway next to Union Terrace Bridge within the gardens.
The victim of the assault was helped by a passing schoolboy who found him in the aftermath of the attack.
Constable Rachel Maclennan, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are looking to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information relevant to it.”
