Police officers have arrested six people for outstanding crimes following a special operation in Aberdeenshire.
A total of 18 warrants were enacted across the region this week for non-payment of fines, failure to appear in court and non-compliance with court orders.
Police Scotland’s divisional violence reduction unit (DVRU) carried out the swoops in the latest phase of Operation Deka.
Fine defaulters with an accumulated debt of more than £1,000 were dealt with.
Constable Kevin Ritchie said: “This enforces the message that Police Scotland will not allow convicted criminals to avoid paying back their debt to society for crimes that they have committed.
“We will continue to target offenders and I want to thank the public for their continual assistance in tracing wanted persons.
“I urge anyone with a fine or outstanding case to ensure that they make suitable arrangements to deal with the issue to avoid being taken into custody.”
