Scottish Labour and the SNP have announced their candidates for two council by-elections in Aberdeen.
Charlie Pirie, a retired BT manager, will stand for Scottish Labour in the Hilton, Woodside and Stockethill ward after previously representing Kittybrewster from 1999-2003.
The party has also selected Donna Clark – who works part-time in an office and is a former civilian support worker – to stand in the Kincorth, Nigg and Cove ward.
Meanwhile, the SNP has chosen former Aberdeen City Council housing officer Neil Copland to stand in Hilton, Woodside and Stockethill.
Stephen Flynn – parliamentary assistant to Callum McCaig MSP – will contest the Kincorth, Nigg, Cove ward.
The by-elections will be held on July 30, and the votes counted the following day.
The polls been triggered after former SNP councillors, Callum McCaig and Kirsty Blackman, triumphed in last month’s General Election.
