Both units from Peterhead attended the port’s Gala Bingo property on Marischal Street at around 9.20am, but were stood down by 9.45am. An officer at the scene explained that they had been forced to attend the bingo hall because of a fire alarm within the building. When they attended, however, there was no emergency. A spokesman for the fire service said: “It was just a false alarm.”
