New volunteers sought for Aberdeenshire charity shop

An Aberdeenshire charity shop has made a plea for volunteers.
Ballater’s popular Clan Cancer Support base, on Tullich Road, needs more local helpers to join its ranks.
The shop is open from Monday to Saturday and volunteers usually chip in about three hours of work every week.
Manager Alison Hodge said: “We have a great team here in Ballater and most importantly we have a lot of fun.
“However, as our shop donations have increased in the last few years, so has our need for volunteers.”
Shop worker, Joss Atkin, said: “What I enjoy most about volunteering with Clan is the feeling that I’m putting something back into the community.
“It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. It’s always a good laugh too.”
The charity was recently given a new storage unit for housing its stock by Safetrade 24/7 after vandals targeted the old shed and scattered the contents on the banks of the River Dee.
