A crash involving a car and pedestrian in Aberdeen city centre resulted in several road closures on Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 2am on Saturday on Alford Place near its junction with Victoria Street.
It involved a silver Toyota Corolla and a 39-year-old male pedestrian, who was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The driver of the car was not injured.
A police cordon stretching from Holburn junction down to St Margaret’s School for Girls on Albyn Place was up for more than nine hours.
In the morning, police cordon remained up with officers patrolling the area with a recovery vehicle loading a silver car onto its flatbed at the scene.
Police officers were advising pedestrians to avoid walking on the south side pavement as it is understood that is where the incident took place.
Pedestrians were finally allowed to walk through the area at around 10.30am, by which time people were going about their weekend, heading into the city centre or walking their dogs.
At 11am police took down parts of the cordon to allow city-bound traffic through while a cleaning crew from Aberdeen City Council were called to clean the roadway.
Sergeant Iain Nicolson said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time or who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”
