A distraught Aberdeen couple have paid tribute to their baby boy who has died at just four-weeks-old.
Geo Lutton had short bowel syndrome, which meant his small intestine was only 18cm long, 22cm below the minimum length expected for a newborn to survive.
The condition prevented little Geo from absorbing enough nutrients to grow and he was given a life expectancy of only a week.
However, he managed to battle on for four weeks and died at the weekend in the arms of mum Leah Johnston.
But brave Geo held on for four weeks, and passed away at the weekend in the arms of his mum Leah Johnston.
Father Tommy Lutton, 29, said: “It was an amazing four weeks that we had with Geo and I can’t thank people enough.
“We will also treasure the small things we did with Geo such as going to Asda or taking him out in his buggy, something we will miss.”
The couple, from Mastrick, had drawn up a bucket list of things they wanted to do with their baby, in an effort to give him 18 years’ worth of experiences in the short time he had left.
They managed to tick off a few of the activities, thanks to the help of Aberdeen Football Club and up-and-coming local boxing star Matty McAllister
Now the pair, who have thanked everyone who has helped Geo reach some of his goals, have organised a walk from Inverness to Aberdeen’s Broad Street in September, passing through villages and towns to speak to people about Geo’s condition, saying his memory will live on.
The couple are raising money for the Friends of the Special Nursery in Aberdeen, who have given them support, and donations can be made at
