Officers are searching for the driver of a vehicle which failed to stop for police in Aberdeen last night.
Officers attempted to stop the car in the Bridge of Don area at around 5.30pm.
But despite the best efforts of police at the scene, it sped away and was “lost to sight”.
Officers combed the streets looking for the vehicle, which was later found abandoned on Woodside Road following a crash.
Residents reported a large police presence in the Bridge of Don area last night at the Parkway as searches were launched to trace the person, or people, responsible.
A police spokesman told The P&J that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
He said: “A vehicle failed to stop for officers in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen around 5.30pm on Tuesday, 23 January.
“The vehicle was lost to sight but was traced a short time later after being abandoned following a crash on Woodside Road.
