The bird managed to get its head wrapped inside a polystyrene box while scouring the streets of Aberdeen for food. It was photographed standing on top of a car with the macaroni carton round its neck in the Kittybrewster area of the city this week. The snap was uploaded on to the social media site yesterday. Some Facebook users described the picture as funny adding that seagulls were “nuisance” birds. The picture of the gull in Aberdeen has gone viral But other horrified city residents took pity on the gull. Student Lisa Rodger posted: “Surely the nicer thing to do would have been to try and help get it off its head instead of taking a photo?” The Scottish SPCA said the animal welfare charity had not received any calls about the bird. Scottish SPCA Chief Inspector John Carle said: “It looks like the gull can still fly which will make it difficult to catch. “However, if anyone spots the bird they should contact our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
