A young boy, aged just eight, has been charged by police in relation to vandalism at a primary school in Aberdeen.
Ten windows were smashed at Bramble Brae School in Northfield on Sunday, July 19, with damage worth a ‘mid three-figure sum’ done to the building.
The child will now be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit.
Chief Inspector Nick Topping said: “Police Scotland is dedicated to keeping people safe and it is not acceptable that buildings which are central to our communities are targeted in this way.
“The damage will have to be repaired and the cost of this not only affects those who attend the school but the wider community.
“It is disappointing to see this happening in the school holidays and I would ask parents to please ensure you know where your children are.
“Anyone who has concerns in their community or sees anything suspicious can contact police on 101. In an emergency always dial 999.”
