Police have appealed for information after two trucks were spotted acting suspiciously outside industrial units in a north-east village.
A white crew-cab pickup truck and a small white flatbed truck with blue writing along the side were seen in Cruden Bay on Saturday morning.
Officers said there appeared to have been “no reason” for the vehicles to be in the area around 9.15am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said: “There has been a history of fuel and metal thefts in and around the Peterhead area and we are concerned that this may be another similar incident.
“We are keen to prevent such crimes in the area and ask the local community to report any incidents which cause them concern.
“We are stepping up checks following this incident and are asking anyone who recognises these vehicles to come forward.”
