A car thieve targeted a cream Mini Cooper in Portlethen’s Duffshill Way this morning (August 5).
Police say the car was stolen at around 1am and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Police are keen to trace a white Skoda Octavia seen in the area at the time.
PC Neil Fraser, from the Kincardine and Mearns Community Policing Team, said: “This crime happened overnight and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen these vehicles, or has any information, to contact Police Scotland.
“I would also like to remind the public not to take any chances with their security and to take steps to discourage criminals.
“Keep your vehicles locked and your homes secure, even when you are inside. Keep your valuables out of sight and remember that a simple act such as keeping your car keys out of easy reach of your door can be vital.
“This will remove any easy chances for thieves.”
Anyone with information relating to this crime is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
