Staff at a north-east engineering firm have raised more than £1,400 for a cancer charity.
Employees at Maritime Development’s Peterhead office welcomed friends and family to a carnival event featuring fun rides earlier this month.
The £1,410 raised has been donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care which supports patients and their loved ones.
The firm’s chief executive Derek Smith said: “We’re pleased to have been able to raise money for Marie Curie and hopefully this support can go some way towards helping the charity continue its fine work with people suffering from the illness in the Peterhead area.”
Christine Masson, a Marie Curie nurse based in Peterhead, thank Maritime Developments for the “generous gesture”.
She added: “It will help the charity commit extra time to cancer and end-of-life patients and provide further support to their families and loved ones.”
