A bygone way of life will be on show at an historic Aberdeenshire landmark this weekend.
Visitors will be shown the ancient arts of weaving, dyeing and spinning at the Crathes Castle estate tomorrow and on Sunday.
The “weave, warp and weft” event will give people the chance to test their skills in traditional crafts using tools such as spinning wheels.
The estate’s National Trust for Scotland ranger team will lead a hand printing demonstration using leaves and feathers.
There will also be an exhibition from the Guild of Weavers and Dyers.
Learning and events manager at Crathes Castle, Hazel Morrison, said: “In an age when cloth is something that comes already printed and sewn into a garment or item, this is a fascinating insight into how fabric used to be produced.
“Visitors of all ages will get the chance to learn how local plants were used to create and dye cloth, and to have a go at printing some themselves.”
The activities are included in the admission cost to the estate and will run between 10.30am and 5pm.
