The countdown is on to a charity golf day hosted by former Ryder Cup star Harry Bannerman.
The Aberdonian golfer will host the Texas scramble golf day at Ballater on September 24 to raise money for Cornerstone, a charity that supports adults and children with disabilities.
And now the event has been given a high speed boost after being backed by the Porsche Centre in Aberdeen.
The luxury car specialist has nominated Cornerstone as its charity for 2015, and will provide a Porsche 911 GTS to officially launch the event at Ballater Golf Club – giving participants the chance to admire the motor up close.
Mr Bannerman said: “I’m delighted to be hosting this event in aid of Cornerstone, who are a wonderful charity providing vital support to so many families across Scotland.
“The golf spectacular and sports dinner is shaping up to be a fantastic day out – Ballater is a stunning course and the Texas scramble format is a great way to get everyone onto the course and enjoying themselves.”
After the round of golf, the teams will enjoy a dinner and entertainment at the Palm Court Hotel in Aberdeen, which Mr Bannerman hopes will be a “great way” to round off the day.
Tom Hail, the city’s Porsche Centre’s principal and community champion, said: “The Porsche Centre Aberdeen is absolutely delighted to announce Cornerstone as its charity of the year for 2015 and support their fantastic golf spectacular”.
Tickets for the golf event and charity dinner cost £500 for a team of four, which includes refreshments on arrival, lunch, drinks reception, two-course dinner and entertainment. To book, visit www.cornerstone.org.uk/golf
