The SSPCA have launched an inquiry following the death of a pet at a party in Buckie after it was made to ingest cocaine.
The cat, known as Cheeko, belonged to distraught 18 year old Buckie woman Nickay Grant.
Nickay had asked a family friend to to take the cat in as she also had four dogs and was beging to fear for the Tom’s safety.
She had been visiting her cat everyday but fell out with her trusted friend.
Then on July 25, the unnamed friend, had been hosting a house party and had allowed a cruel minded male guest to test the effects of the Class A drug on the small feline.
The cat ignored the chemically cut drug but it is believed the party goer then dabbed a finger in the illegal substance and forcibly inserted it up the cat’s nostril.
The small animal then lost his balance, had a seizure and died.
The SSPCA’s Senior Inspector Alison Simpson said: “We have received a report relating to a cat which allegedly died after ingesting cocaine.
“Our investigation into this report is currently on-going.”
However, Nickay has been told it may be difficult to gather firm evidence.
