Picture by KAMI THOMSON .21-09-11 Aberdeen City Council has decided to remove 175 pay and display machines this year. A total of 43 city roads will have machines removed including Union Grove, Hardgate, Chapel Street, Bon Accord Terrace and Beach Boulevard. The move comes as an attempt to cut costs and modernise the system. New £1 coins are due to be introduced in 2017 which means the current machines may need to be modified. Signs will be set up where machines have been removed to direct people to the nearest one.
