For one night only, Rollermania will return to the north-east as one of the 1970s most screamed-at groups lines up for a charity concert.
Once described as the biggest band since The Beatles, the Bay City Rollers captured the hearts of teenagers across the land.
Now lead singer Les McKeown and a new lineup are ironing their tartan trousers in anticipation of a charity gig in Fraserburgh next Friday.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Clan Cancer Support.
Last night organiser Ronnie Arthur said fans would be gathering from far and wide to relive classic tunes such as Bye Bye Baby, Give a Little Love and Shang-a-Lang.
“We’re expecting a really good crowd,” he said. “There have been a lot of tickets sold already but there are still some available.
“There are people coming from all over the world. We’ve got people flying in from Japan and coming from Georgia in the USA. There are people who have never been to Scotland before and they’re coming over to Fraserburgh just for the concert.”
The former teen sensations will be joined on the nostalgic night by fellow pop acts Paper Lace, Hazell Dean and Black Lace.
Mr Arthur added: “It’s all the big stars so it will be a really good night for fans of 70s and 80s music. We’re expecting people to come in their tartan trousers.”
The Bringing Back the Good Times gig will be held at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre next Friday from 7.30pm. Tickets are still available from the venue.
